Common questions

Things people usually ask us

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. Still unsure? Just write to us.

Can I get a residence permit without owning property?
+
Yes — one of the most common routes is registering a DOO (limited liability company) and becoming its director. This qualifies you for a temporary residence permit. We help you set up the company and then apply for the VNJ through this route.
How long does it take to register a company?
+
With all documents in order, company registration with the CRPS usually takes 5–10 working days. After that, tax registration takes another few days. We help you prepare everything correctly the first time to avoid delays.
Do I need to speak Montenegrin to deal with the authorities?
+
No — that's partly why we exist. We accompany you to appointments, communicate with government offices on your behalf, and translate everything that matters. You don't need to navigate any of this alone.
What are the accounting obligations for a small DOO?
+
Every DOO must file monthly VAT returns (if VAT-registered), quarterly tax advance payments, an annual financial report, and a corporate income tax return. We explain all of this to you and connect you with an accountant who handles the filings — keeping you informed throughout.
Can a foreigner be the sole founder and director of a Montenegrin company?
+
Yes, absolutely. Montenegro allows 100% foreign ownership of a DOO. As the sole founder and director, you can also apply for a temporary residence permit on the basis of your directorship.
How much does bookkeeping cost per month?
+
We don't do bookkeeping ourselves — we connect you with trusted local accountants and stay involved to make sure things run smoothly. Fees depend on the accountant and your transaction volume. We can give you a realistic picture of what to expect before you commit to anything.
